The gorgeous upstairs private dining room at Herb Alpert's Vibrato Grill Jazz...etc. can be configured several ways, as one room or two. With a bird's-eye view of the stage and large flat screens on the walls for close-up entertainment (or other visual aids), it's the perfect private room for special events and meetings. Or a Winemaker's Dinner...Winemaker's Dinner in August!
An Evening with David Hunt of Hunt Cellars

Recognized as the next cult winery and one of the best wineries in the state of California, with hundreds of prestigious awards... almost every wine from Hunt Cellars has won multiple Gold Medals, Best of Class or scored in the 90s.

The dinner on Thursday August 27, held in the private upstairs dining room overlooking the stage and main floor of Vibrato, will showcase 7 of Hunt Cellars’ finest wines and include a discussion with David Hunt about his unique process... Most winemakers blend by the barrel, but David Hunt blends carefully, exquisitely, by the gallon!

The wines will be paired with a 7-course menu, custom-designed by Chef de Cuisine Natalia Ivanova in collaboration with Wine Director Hoss Zargaran and Winemaker David Hunt (pictured).  Actually, since the hors d'oeuvres and the first course consist of 2 dishes each (that means everyone is served both dishes, not a choice of either), this dinner showcases nine luscious dishes and seven world-class wines!  See the menu below...

This luscious Fingerling Potato Knish with Smoked Wild Salmon, Champagne-soaked Toasted Mustard Seeds and Lemon-Dill Crème Fraiche (an original Vibrato signature dish) is an appetizer, also on the Bar Menu. (3 per order.)David Hunt lost his sight in 1989, but only after he and his wife found the perfect property to start a winery, 550 acres in Paso Robles with 4 distinct terroirs with varying elevations containing soil composites that mirror the great wine regions of the world. There, he found his holy grail— the white, chalky rock that was part of the soil that would produce his wines. Losing his sight seemed to increase David’s other senses, especially his palate, which remembered every vintage of wine he ever tasted. This uncanny taste memory has been of tremendous help in his winemaking, if his exceptional, full-bodied, complex and fruit-forward reds are any indication. His winery's first wine, a Zinfandel, was produced in 1998...and immediately won a 90-point rating from Wine Enthusiast magazine (very rare for a brand new winemaker's first effort)!

David is also a musician, who has played with David Benoit, recorded with rock group Ambrosia and was twice a Finalist in the American Songwriting Festival. With his passion for both music and wine, many of David’s wines are In a little over ten years in the winemaking business, Hunt Cellars has struck the right note—not just once, but over and over again.
