Music Hours: Duo: 6:30-8:30 // Gregg Arthur: 9:00
“I love the way you sing. You’re yourself, which makes you an original singer, your phrasing is perfection”
Gregg Arthur is the musician's singer. His interpretations of the songs are lucid, groovy and informed by the tradition of jazz singing. He has a great instrument- it allows him to speak to the audience as though he was confiding his most personal thoughts with them. Most importantly he knows the genre and speaks it with an authority that one seldom hears” - Craig Scott, Sydney Conservatorium Of Music
Honing his craft over the years, Gregg has travelled the world performing for enthusiastic audiences, with Great American Songbook aficionados embracing him and his unique interpretations of this beloved musical art form. Originally from Sydney Australia, he has had the pleasure of learning from some of the great players of the genre. His debonair style makes it all look so smooth and easy, but such ‘natural’ ease takes years to perfect.
Gregg Arthur has recorded 8 albums, two with symphony orchestra for ABC Classics & Jazz/ Universal Music; Love Story in 2011 and Unforgettable, a portrait of Nat “King” Cole in 2012. He has been praised internationally for his original smooth vocal style by Tony Bennett in the United States, radio king Alan Jones in Australia and Michael Parkinson on the BBC in the United Kingdom.
