The Evan Mehta Quartet is an innovative LA-based ensemble that blends their soul, hip-hop, and funk influences with the concepts of jazz to create equally accessible and cerebral genre-free music.
The four high school members are young yet highly acclaimed, having been accepted into the Colburn School of Music's prestigious Night Bands (who recently won the Monterey Jazz Festival), the GRAMMY Foundation's youth program, and various top jazz programs nationwide. The group—which includes Steven Griggs on tenor, Josh Turner on bass, Corey Gordon on drums, and Evan Mehta on piano--regularly performs in the greater LA area.
The Quartet is led by pianist Evan Mehta, who has played with notable artists such as John Mayer, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, and Michael Bublé.
