James DeFrances - a 24 year old baritone -- has been called a cross between Frank Sinatra and Steve Lawrence with witty phrasing, clear articulation, crisp low notes and a bright, rich mid-range. He’s been performing since age 14 and his focus is on jazz and big band standards.
He is currently recording his debut album in Hollywood, at Capitol Records Studios with Patrick Williams producing, arranging and conducting. The album will feature the same orchestra that Frank Sinatra used on his final two studio albums (Duets). Al Schmitt is James' sound engineer and he has seen to it that James is using the same microphone Sinatra himself used. James will not release one, but two full length studio albums this year.
