Jeff Bunnell Sextet

Jeff has been active in the music scene in Los Angeles for over 35 years.  Some of his jazz credits include the small groups of Horace Silver and Poncho Sanchez, and the big bands of Ray Charles, Tom Harrell, Arturo Sandoval, Bill Watrous, Jack Sheldon, Tom Kubis, and Gordon Goodwin. Jeff is equally at home playing both jazz and classical music. Some of his orchestral credits include The Hollywood Symphony Orchestra, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The Pacific Symphony, The Pasadena Symphony Pops, The New West Symphony, and The Long Beach Symphony. Jeff is also active in the musical theater scene in Los Angeles, having played on over 40 different musicals. 

Jeff is a fixture in the recording studios, where he has enjoyed a long career scoring hundreds of films and television soundtracks. His recent film credits of note include “Jurassic World,” “Inside Out,” and “Tomorrowland.” Other films of note include “Up” (which won the Oscar for best score), “Star Trek – Into Darkness,” “Ratatouille,” “Mission Impossible 4,” “The Incredibles,” and “Finding Nemo.” 

In addition to playing the trumpet, Jeff also works as an arranger, orchestrator, and conductor in the recording studios. He has orchestrated for film and television, as well as other areas of recording such as cruise ship music and theme park music. 

Jeff writes original big band charts for Spiegl Music Publications, and has published three books of transcribed jazz trumpet solos, through his own publishing company - Mount Washington Music, distributed world wide through Aebersold Jazz Inc.
