We first met Abraham McDonald on a televised Skype call from Oprah after being discovered at the Los Angeles County Fair “Karaoke Fest” contest hosted by Grammy Award Winning gospel legend BeBe Winans. It wasn’t soon after that 8 Million viewers and voters would crown Abraham McDonald the Oprah Winfrey Karaoke Challenge Winner on the internationally broadcast Oprah Winfrey Show.
Abraham won the hearts of millions while being judged by a few of the most intimidating leaders & legends of the entertainment field, Gladys Knight, David Foster, Diane Warren and Antonio ‘LA’ Reid.
Following his victory on the show Abraham continued his climb; his vocal coloring, sultry tones, and gleaming smile took to the stage of the world famous MINT in Los Angeles, leading to a chance meeting with top executive Max Gousse. That meeting not only led to Abraham signing an exclusive recording contract with Island Def Jam Music Group but it also led him to living his dream of working with mega writer Diane Warren. Def Jam became his home and where he released the Award Winning R&B chart topper “Miracle” written by famed writing team Watters & Biancaniello.
The singer’s gift has garnered him many platforms including an invitation to perform for Women for Obama which led to him serenading the First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama, an invite he of course was more than elated to honor. Soon after Abraham joined Rebecca Holden in making history performing their YouTube Million + views hit “Dreams Come True” on the Legendary Bobby Jones Gospel, BET. From there Abraham has been invited to perform on many stages, however the memorable BET Networks’ “Way Black When” where he paid homage to the late great Luther Vandross gave him sight on his next project. McDonald recently filmed “Abraham SINGS Luther” as a documentary concert for Alan Foster Productions.
The crooner has been sited performing with the (IPO) Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and also holding concert court in our U.S. Capitol as a guest performer for the annual Children Uniting Nations Conference & Gala. Recently, Abraham was invited to honor Prime Minister Shimon Peres, former leader of Israel; an invitation he graciously accepted Abraham McDonald and Miri Mesika perform Hallelujah.
