Nicola Són, the most Brazilian of the French
Nicola was born in Paris and is of Armenian descent. He was soothed by 'duduk' and 'kotchari' at a young age. As a teenager he discovered Lígia, Tom Jobim's wonderful song as interpreted by João Gilberto and Stan Getz. A few years later, he flew to Rio de Janeiro to soak up the culture and improve his knowledge of music.
He met many musicians, composed and adapted in French standard Brazilian songs. He recorded "Parioca" (2010), which received an enthusiastic response in France and Brazil.
In 2011, he returned to Rio to broadcast Parioca and record his second album "Nord Destin". He worked with some of the best musicians including the master percussionist Marcos Suzano. He invited the legendary João Donato on piano and the samba band Casuarina. Nord Destin released in 2013 in France with an amazing show at the New Morning (Paris).
In November 2013, Nicola left Paris to settle in São Paulo. He launched Nord Destin which received a very positive response from the media and expanded his Brazilian audience. In 2016, he released his third album "Sampathique" which concludes his Brazilian trilogy.
