Born and raised in Houston, Texas, violinist and vocalist Leah Zeger comes from a family of professional symphony musicians. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she double-majored in opera and violin. At 19 years of age, whilst earning her degrees, she won a tenured position in the 1st violin section of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and established herself as a prominent jazz singer/violinist in the Austin jazz scene with her own quartet. While in Austin, she dueled with Charlie Daniels and appeared on Austin City Limits with both Pearl Jam and Willie Nelson. She also headlined the Austin Jazz Festival with her own band, Leah and the Moonlighters, with whom she recorded a 14-song album of all original compositions.
In 2010, Zeger moved to Los Angeles and became a member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. She also regularly records for television and film as a violinist/singer, recent projects including Deadpool, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Family Guy. In the last few years, she has toured/performed as a soloist with Miley Cyrus, Ceelo Green, Annie Lennox, Stevie Wonder, Electric Light Orchestra, and in 2017 toured as solo violinist/vocalist with Hans Zimmer Live.
In 2014 , Zeger recorded and produced her second album, "Pour Moi" and produced and starred in her first major music video "The Man I Love”. Her newest release (June 2018) titled Plans Change, is a collaboration with producer Stevie Blacke of Flagship Artists. An official Yamaha Artist, Zeger performs for audiences nationally and internationally with her own project and with other artists.
