Shoshana has worked as a jazz musician for ten years, traveling and living between the two coasts, telling her own story and singing the songs of some of America’s greatest songwriters.
In 2013, Shoshana performed and released her live album Shoshana Bush & Friends Live at Catalina Jazz Club. She is accompanied on the record by her longtime friend, musical director, and pianist Isamu Mcgregor as well as Dave Robaire (bass), Gene Coye (drums), Larry Koonse (guitar) and features George Young on alto saxophone & flute. The album is available for steam or download on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon and other similar services. For purchase of a physical CD, please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org (or ask your server at Vibrato on the night of the show).
While in New York, Shoshana played in the city's famed jazz clubs. She hosted numerous evenings at Birdland Jazz Club, and in opened up for Jane Monheit at The Blue Note as a part of their Emerging Artist Series. In Los Angeles, Shoshana has graced the stages of Catalina Bar & Grill and Rockwell Table & Stage. Now, a few times a year, you can find her at Herb Alpert's Grill & Jazz.
Shoshana’s sound has evolved from simply straight ahead jazz to a diverse repertoire including originals and reimagined tellings of old blues songs. Inspired by Ernestine Anderson and Ester Phillips, Blossom Dearie and June Christy, Shoshana's raspy voice and unique ability to sing earnestly, as if she's telling you a story straight from her own life long, long ago, is what sets her apart.
