Born and raised in NYC, Lenore Raphael played Carnegie Hall at the age of 7. She was studying Classical piano, but soon after, she discovered Jazz and she has never turned back.
Critics and jazz hosts have called Lenore “simply one of the best mainstream jazz pianists today" influenced by Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson, whom she wrote "Blues For O.P." for - Lenore has created her own recognizable sound that is unlike anyone else's.
Raphael has performed at top jazz venues.. Jazz At Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, Birdland the Tel Aviv jazz festival, The London Jazz Festival, The Ottawa International Jazz Festival, The Joy of Jazz festival in South Africa where she was one of the three famed Steinway artists to perform, the S.S Floating jazz cruise, Ronnie Scott’s in London and many more.
Lenore has ten critically acclaimed recordings on the Swingin’ Fox Music label. Her recordings “Invitation” and “Loverly” were up for Grammy nominations and named TOP international jazz recordings by the BBC network. She now has her own radio show called “Lenore Raphael’s JazzSpot” on four internet stations.
Lenore has performed and recorded with such greats as Clark Terry, Warren Vache, Howard Alden, Harry Allen, Bucky Pizzarelli, Jack Wilkins and more.
