Andy Vargas, the “brown-eyed” Latin R&B Soul singer is perhaps best known for his work with 12-time, Grammy Award Winning artist, Carlos Santana. After 20 World Tours as frontman for the legendary Santana Band, Andy's masterful, soul-tinged voice has graced the stage with such respected artists as Enrique Iglesias, Rob Thomas, Patti Labelle, Herbie Hancock, Ozomatli, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, Yanni, and Slight Return, just to name a few.
Working in the business since the age of 15 with such notable music producers as Terry Melcher and Lou Adler, and under the supervision of music executive Ron Fair, who assisted him in signing a record deal with RCA records, Andy has become a prolific songwriter, producer, and DJ. After years of exploring, developing, and cultivating his musical chops and vocal talent, he’s now crafted his own music style which he calls “Souleros,” also the title of his upcoming solo album.
Andy describes Souleros as “the new sound of Chicano Soul,” a mix of traditional Spanish/Latin ballads, Boleros, and smooth R&B Soul. The underlying message of the music he says is, "Let go, and let love.”
With first hand knowledge of music’s ability to transcend barriers and uplift the soul, it comes as no surprise the popular singer launched The Andy Vargas Foundation, which provides at-risk youth with life changing opportunities through learning about music and the music business.
Andy continues to receive accolades and perform globally with the Santana Band. Performing amazingly popular hits like “Smooth,” “Maria Maria,” and “Corazon Espinado” from the smash album,Supernatural, (the largest selling album next to Michael Jackson’s Thriller), Andy keeps his talents sharp in front of sell-out crowds, and millions of fans annually. Back home, his recent release of “The Beat” was recognized with a Hollywood Music in Media Award for “Best R&B Soul Song.”
