Shawn Amos Announced as Vibrato Artistic Director

Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill, Jazz, Etc., LA’s premiere restaurant featuring live jazz, has announced the appointment of Shawn Amos as artistic director.

Shawn fills the vacancy from the retirement of long-time director Pat Senatore, an original member of Herb Alpert’s Tijuana Brass band.  Herb Alpert made the selection personally after considering a number of candidates.

“We are all very excited to have Shawn Amos to help us book talent at Vibrato,” said the nine-time Grammy-winning musician, artist and philanthropist, Herb Alpert. “His strengths and vision will at once honor our long tradition of quality jazz and also bring a fresh and edgy energy to our commitment to always showcase exciting new talent.”

Amos has long been involved in booking talent for music venues in the LA area but also performs worldwide as blues singer the Reverend Shawn Amos.  “I’m so thrilled to be entrusted with a piece of Herb’s legacy. Vibrato gives me another playground to explore my continuing passion of bringing good music and good food together. It’s a Los Angeles treasure dedicated to keeping vital American music alive on a world-class stage,” said Amos.

Amos’ resume also includes extensive work in the marketing and promotion field.  Logging over two hundred thousand miles teaching digital storytelling to the likes of Pepsi and AT&T, Amos is able to add new dimensions to the Artistic director position.

Amos is also the son of Wally “Famous” Amos, the entrepreneur and talent agent.

Already in his short tenure at Vibrato, Amos is starting up an Emerging Artists Night to focus on new and young talent, an After Hours music set for the late night crowd, as well as a Mardi Gras Night to focus on New Orleans style jazz just in time for the upcoming Fat Tuesday festivities.
